This time we had 3 days and had to attend a function in Daman. Therefore, we decided to explore Daman & Udvada. Here is the itinerary of the Best Places to Visit in Daman.
Udvada is a tiny village near daman. It takes 20-30 mins only to reach there from Daman. This comes under the places to visit near Daman within 100 km. It is an old Parsi village with rich Parsi culture. You can take a nice heritage walk where you can see the fire temple (from outside cause only Parsi people are allowed to go inside) and the excellent Parsi-style architecture of houses. Each house has a bench-like structure to sit and chitchat. The villagers are not much welcoming, however, they won’t stop you from clicking pictures. We had a nice snack at Cafe Farohar. They also serve delicious fish and chicken preparations. Try its amazing flavours of soda if you are a soda lover.
You can find numerous bakeries with a unique variety of bakery items in Daman. We especially loved jam cakes and cream buns. However, Daman is famous for weddings and weekend parties. If you go towards Devka beach, you may find various restaurants with delicious food. Also, there are many private farms you can book for a party.
Here is the list of places to visit in Daman in one day. Bom Jesus Church, Dominican Monastery, and St. Jerom Fort are must-visit places in Daman. The lights around the Jerome fort are sooting and perfect for an evening walk. You will find hidden gems of daman around this fort with delicious street food. The best time to visit Daman is in winter, as the city gets hot in the afternoon and it is difficult to roam outside. In Daman, we also spotted a cyber cafe. One can do all old-school stuff here. You won’t get much fresh fish year, but alcohol is cheap.
Two days are good enough to explore Daman and Udvada. However, the Best time to visit Daman is winter. You can take a helicopter ride to Diu from Daman. Many Kathiyawadi restaurants on the road from Maharashtra to Daman serve delicious Kathiyawadi food.
